Terms of Service
Last updated July 7, 2026
These terms govern your use of Selector. By requesting access to or using the service, you agree to them. Selector is in a closed alpha, so expect rough edges and change.
Eligibility and access
Selector is currently invite-only. Access is granted at our discretion and may be limited, suspended, or withdrawn at any time. You must be at least 16 years old and able to enter into these terms to use the service.
Your account
You sign in with Discogs. You're responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your Discogs credentials secure. You agree to provide accurate information when requesting access.
Acceptable use
- Don't misuse the service — no attempts to break, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to it or its data.
- Respect the terms of the third-party services Selector connects to, including Discogs, MusicBrainz, Last.fm, and YouTube.
- Don't use Selector to infringe others' rights or to violate any applicable law.
Your content and data
Your collection data remains yours. By using Selector, you grant us the permission needed to process that data to provide the service — for example, to sync your collection, compute your Selector Score, and, when you ask, write changes back to Discogs.
Third-party data and the Selector Score
Selector draws on data from third parties, some of which is licensed (for example, metadata from MusicBrainz and Wikipedia is provided under their respective licenses, including CC BY-SA). The Selector Score and related recommendations are estimates offered for your convenience — informational opinions, not guarantees, appraisals, or financial advice.
Intellectual property
The Selector application, its design, and its original content are owned by us and protected by law. These terms don't grant you any right to our trademarks or branding. Music metadata and cover art belong to their respective owners and sources.
Alpha, disclaimers, and availability
Selector is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. As alpha software, it may be incomplete, change without notice, lose data, or be unavailable. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service.
Termination
You may stop using Selector at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the alpha.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Selector evolves. We'll post changes here and update the date above; continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
